Since 1986
We have been showing this elegant breed in Conformation, Obedience, and Lure Coursing. We have finished AKC Championships on seven dogs; seven others have points/major points.
In Lure Coursing, we have three ASFA Champions, one almost finished, and two with AKC Lure Coursing points.
Currently we are working toward an obedience title on one of the girls and a tracking title on another. Also, two other youngsters are gaining points toward their ASFA titles.
Breed History
The Pharaoh Hound is of great antiquity, being one of the earliest breeds in recorded history. The breed is virtually unchanged today from the painting, reliefs, and sculptures found in tomb chapels and temples of the Ancient Egyptians - some as much as 5000 years old.
The Pharaoh Hound is medium sized, of noble bearing, with hard, clean lines. Graceful, well balanced, and very fast, with free easy movement and alert expression.
The character of the Pharaoh Hound is intelligent, friendly, affectionate, and playful. Alert and active. Very fast with a marked keenness for hunting, both by sight and scent.
