Dancers, oil,
"These four Crow men are dressed in their finest ceremonial and social outfits (contemporary). They are serious, yet ready to have a good time at a powwow. The life-size Crow Indian dancers are showing the contemporary style of today; beads, feathers, bells, and the love of dancing. The dancers often seem bigger than life"

Little Crain on the River, oil,
"A Young Crow Woman parades in her finery, hand-crafted by her mother and aunts. Parading through their camps was a way for Crow women to show off themselves and their beadwork. The women would parade on their husband's finest horses; many of them showed wealth."

Night Riders, oil,
"This group of Crow warrriors is returning from a campaign (horse raiding). During their campaigns, they wouldn't wear the war bonnets; they only wore them when they returned to camp. This showed their return was a good one, and they would be honored. The Crows had many fine horses; it took great skill and courage to have them. Horses to the Crows were a sign of wealth."

Red Earth Dancers, oil,
"These were competition dancers. Their costumes were traditionally decorated with natural colors (contemporary). During, competition, if a feather or a piece of costume fell off, the dancer was eliminated. If they were to miss or skip a beat to the drum, they were eliminated. These are proud dancers of the Crow Indians."

White Hawk, oil,
"White Hawk was an honored Spiritual Helper, a healer of the Crows. During his vision as a young man, a white hawk came to him, a helper. He would decorate his face with lines of white paint going vertically across his face. He wears a hawk on the top of his head, in honor of the white hawk. Human beings and animal spirits are one under the Maker of all things."
