After my family was grown, I decided the timing was right for me to pursue the poodles of my dreams. All my years in sporting dogs have helped me with my poodles. I am breeding red toy poodles and miniature poodles. In toy poodles I specialize in red toys, but occasionally have a black. In miniature I show and breed black and brown poodles. South Paws' may have a standard litter occasionally.

I am very aware of proper structure, soundness, movement, and health issues. My dogs are PRA certified from the University of Georgia. My miniatures also have their OFA ratings. I am very careful with my breeding. I am trying to produce lines that are clear of PRA, Leggs-Calves-Perthes, slip stifles, and epilepsy. My puppies are taken to the veterinarian for their health checkups.

I place companion puppies on the AKC limited registration only. This means, they are AKC registered but can not be used for breeding. Breeding litters is a huge responsibility. Genetic testing must be done first to the parents, knowing which lines not to breed together is very important in avoiding heath problems. Also finding responsible pet owners for each puppy is a huge task.

I breed every litter hoping for a show potential puppy, but not all litters have more than one show puppy. Therefore I appreciate my companion buyers.
